On the road in Romania
The rovinieta covers the national road network. A few Danube crossings carry a separate bridge toll, useful to know in advance.
Valid immediately, nothing in the car
Your number plate is the vignette. Get in and drive: CNAIR's cameras recognise your registration automatically, even at night.
Also required beyond the motorway
Unlike Austria, the rovinieta applies on nearly all national roads, not just the motorway. With one vignette you are covered almost everywhere.
Danube bridges: separate bridge toll
The bridges at Fetești-Cernavodă (A2 towards the coast) and Giurgeni-Vadu Oii charge a separate bridge toll on top of the vignette. You pay it on site or online.
Everything you need to know
WHERE IT IS REQUIRED
On the motorways and on nearly all national roads (DN numbers), so also on the through route if you avoid the motorway. Local and county roads are vignette-free.
WITHOUT A VIGNETTE
Cameras check automatically by number plate. If you drive without a valid rovinieta, a fine of a few hundred lei follows, and you still have to buy the vignette.
NUMBER PLATE: BE PRECISE
CNAIR only allows a free correction for 60 minutes after issue. That is why we double-check your number plate in the order form and purchase immediately after your payment.
RATES MAY CHANGE
Romania is preparing a rate revision, including by emission class. It has not yet been introduced: today every car pays the same rate per duration. If this changes, we will adjust our prices.

Valid immediately, we purchase straight away
All durations are valid immediately after registration. We purchase your rovinieta right after your payment, so you can leave as soon as possible.
Correcting your number plate: only easy beforehand
As long as we have not yet purchased, you can correct or cancel free of charge via your status page. After purchase, CNAIR is strict: a plate error can then only be fixed through a written procedure, with up to 5 working days of waiting during which the vignette is not on the correct plate. So please check your number plate carefully before paying.

After delivery you can always verify your registration yourself via the official plate check at erovinieta.ro. The link is in your delivery email.
